2.1 Standards crosswalk, district partnership, standards

Standards Crosswalk

This artifact explicitly addresses the italicized parts of the criteria.

Indicator 2.1 - Courses are based on specific, measurable, and comprehensive school leader performance standards, which include an explicit commitment to equity-centered leadership and align with national professional standards, (e.g., PSEL, NELP) and with partner districts’ leadership standards.

Description: This standards crosswalk from the University of Houston shows the first page of three different crosswalks comparing their courses with three different sets of standards different sets of standards – two from local partner school districts and one against the Association for Advancing Quality in Educator Preparation.

Why we selected this as an exemplar: While programs often submit evidence cross-walking their courses against national standards, we thought this artifact was a great example of a program looking at local partner district standards and seeing how their courses align against those standards, in addition to state and national standards. The crosswalk themselves are also very detailed and contain all course descriptions and objectives offered across the program.
