3.4 Integration with Clinical Experience syllabus

Scaffolded Assignments Example

This artifact explicitly addresses the italicized parts of the criteria.

Indicator 3.4 - Coursework is intentionally and strategically aligned with clinical experiences to support candidates’ integration of research, theory, and practice.

Description: A description from Texas Christian University for a collaborative vision-building assignment. This description shows that this assignment is similar to one completed with each other in a previous class, but now the candidates will be applying that same process with the faculty in their school.

Why we selected this as an exemplar:  Our team thought this artifact did a great job of showing how this new assignment is scaffolded onto a prior similar experience but expanded beyond their classroom and into the school. This assignment directly shows the program supporting candidates apply new learning in district-specific contexts and fits all the criteria for this indicator.
