Description: The University of North Carolina Greensboro Principal Preparation for Excellence and Equity in Rural Schools (PPEERS) program is a close partnership between UNCG and its surrounding districts that includes partnering with candidate selection. This flyer outlines a candidate selection process in which applicants first apply to the district and if accepted, then apply to UNCG. Final candidate selections are made by UNCG and their partner districts.
Why we selected this as an exemplar: This artifact shows evidence of a variety of stakeholders, and two different panels, who weigh in on candidate selection for this program. In its design and selection process, the program foregrounds the applicants’ commitment to equity as well as ensuring that districts view candidates who move forward in the selection process as potential hires.
